A 45-metre Hoop Pine has been transformed into Australia’s largest Christmas tree, and it is impossible to miss.
Perched high on a hill in Hawthorne, the pine tree is wrapped in 50,000 sparkling lights, and this glowing giant has turned Virginia Avenue into a full festive spectacle, visible from kilometres away.
The idea came from the Bosworth family, led by Neely Bosworth, with one simple goal in mind — to create something that brings people together and spreads a bit of Christmas joy.
After more than six months of planning and installation, with Firefly Lighting and Hatch Electrical bringing the vision to life, the result is nothing short of jaw-dropping.
To put it in perspective, it is more than double the height of Brisbane City’s 22-metre Christmas tree.
