A 4-year-old child has passed away in a vehicle accident in Nasovatava in Nadroga-Navosa.

Police say the boy allegedly crossed the road suddenly and was struck by a vehicle driven by a man in his 30s.

He was rushed to the Sigatoka Hospital where his death was confirmed by medical officials.

Police are expected to question the suspect soon, as investigations continue.

They are urging parents and guardians to closely monitor their children’s whereabouts.

Police add that young children should never be left unsupervised, as an accident can occur within a matter of seconds.
