Teachers who have upgraded their qualifications are set to receive long-overdue recognition, with 395 educators receiving 50 percent of their salary upgrade payments this month and the remaining 50 percent scheduled for January 2025.

Additionally, 103 Assistant Principals will have their salary bands elevated to differentiate them from Heads of Departments.

Minister for Education, Aseri Radrodro, shared this announcement while addressing the first-ever Fiji Teachers Registration Authority and Ministry of Education Annual Congress at the Sofitel Fiji Resort and Spa in Nadi.

Radrodro thanked teachers who have persisted in upgrading their professional qualifications and becoming more versatile in areas beyond teaching, including Management, which the coalition government is keen to retain.

He says these payments reflect the government’s commitment to recognizing teachers’ efforts and ensuring their dues are paid.
