Marking the 50th year of partnership between Coca-Cola Fiji and the Fiji Secondary Schools Athletics Association, Coca-Cola Fiji has provided a one-off special donation of $50,000 worth of sporting equipment where $35,000 will be awarded to the overall boys and girls winning schools, including an amount for second and third place schools.

Over 2,800 students from secondary schools all over the country will converge at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva, eager to break records and carve their names into the annals of Fijian sports history.

Commercial Director Coca-Cola Europacific Partners Fiji Ryan Mahoney says the Coke Games hold a special place in the hearts of many Fijians and have become an integral part of the country's sporting heritage.

He says the Games have now grown into Fiji's most prestigious secondary school athletics event and the largest annual athletics competition in the South Pacific.

Mahoney say this will provide an extra incentive for athletes and help make this year's Games the best ever.

He says they are also providing sporting equipment support for seven outer island schools valued at $15,000.

The seven schools include Ratu Lalabalavu Memorial School, Cicia High School and Adi Maopa Secondary School in Lau, Gau Secondary School in Lomaiviti, Richmond Methodist High School and Vunisea Secondary School in Kadavu and Rotuma High School.

The Coca-Cola Games starts tomorrow and will end on Saturday.
