A 34-year-old woman will be produced at a Court sitting in Keiyasi charged with the alleged possession of illicit substances, namely Ketamine and marijuana.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Sakeo Raikaci says the woman was arrested in Korotogo, Sigatoka on Wednesday night, by a team from the Western Division Narcotics Bureau.

ACP Raikaci says the Narcotics Bureau is working with stakeholders in addressing the emergence of new drugs.

He says the sharing of information on illicit drug activities by members of the public is also encouraging as it has led to successful discoveries and arrests.

Ketamine is used for pharmaceutical purposes and is listed under Part 8 of Schedule 1 of the Illicit Drugs Control Act 2004 as Other Types of Drugs.

If you have any information about illicit drug activities, please call the Narcotics Bureau on their toll-free line 0800-3370012, 3370242 for landline, or email to narcotics.bureau@police.org.fj
