34 teams are ready to battle in the Vodafone Cup which starts this Saturday

34 teams have registered to participate in this year's Vodafone Vanua Cup scheduled to begin this Saturday.

Major Sponsors Vodafone Fiji has extended their sponsorship for another 2 years until 2027.

Fiji Sports Commission Director Peter Mazey says rugby league is one of the most influential and far-reaching community sports competitions in our nation.

Mazey says the theme for this year "Empowering Communities, Uniting Rugby League" captures the spirit of the Vodafone games.

He says the competition does more than produce talented players, it builds pride, purpose, and positive changes in our community.

Mazey says from the grassroots to the elite level, the Commission has always believed in the power of sport as a tool for national development.

He says they are proud to partner with organisations like FNRL that are building structured pathways encouraging participation among women, and youth and promoting values that strengthen our society.

Vusu Raiders from Namatakula will be defending the Vodafone Cup this year.

Games will begin this Saturday at the Bidesi grounds in Suva.
