Three homes have been completely destroyed in a fire that broke out this morning on Cakacaka Road in Caubati.
One of the homeowners, Uraia Taqalo, spoke to fijivillage News expressing his gratitude that no lives were lost in the blaze.
Taqalo, a father of four, says the fire started at a neighbouring house and quickly spread due to strong winds, making it impossible to contain.
He says he can always rebuild his home, what matters most is that his family is safe.
He shared that he was told by a neighbour the fire may have started after children were playing with matches.
Taqalo is urging parents to speak with their children about the dangers of fire and playing with matches.
For those who wish to assist, Taqalo says support can be sent via MPAiSA to 2112412 to help rebuild his home and support his children's return to school.
