The High Court has revealed that two accused persons in the $2 billion methamphetamine bust case, Cathy Tuirabe and Viliame Colawaliku who are on bench warrant, have absconded bail.

Police are searching for Tuirabe and Colawaliku.

Meanwhile the Lautoka High Court will deliver a ruling on the State’s application on the destruction of the $2 billion worth or methamphetamine this Friday.

The court is waiting for the filing of the drug destruction plan by the State in order to deliver the ruling.

Justin Ho, David Heritage, Louie Logaivau, Jale Aukerea, Sakiusa Tuva, Keanie Mcpherson, Ratu Aporosa Davelevu, Ratu Osea Levula, Cathy Tuirabe and Viliame Colawaliku are charged with unlawful importation of illicit drugs, unlawful possession of illicit drugs, and possession of property suspected of being proceeds of crime.

The accused persons are charged for their alleged involvement in the 4.1 plus tonnes methamphetamine case in Nadi in December 2023.

Justice Aruna Aluthge has directed both the State and the Defence to finalise pre-trial issues by 31st January 2025.

The hearing and trial in this matter has been scheduled from 21st April to 23rd May 2025.

Bail has been extended for all accused persons except Tuirabe and Colawaliku.

The court has also imposed a curfew between 6pm to 6am as an additional bail condition against Justin Ho, Louie Logaivau and Jale Aukerea.
