A 28-year-old man from Tuatua, Labasa will appear in the Labasa Magistrates Court today after being charged with dishonestly obtaining money through the M-PAiSA app.
Police say it is alleged that on the 2nd of January 2023, the victim was contacted and told that the receipt number was mistakenly sent to her and if she could send it back.
The victim says she had accidentally sent her OTP number as well, whereby the $457 was transferred and withdrawn by the man.
The matter was then reported at the Labasa Police Station.
The accused has been charged by the Fiji Police MPaisa Task Force with one count of obtaining financial advantage.
