Hospital celebrates 2nd anniversary

277 little hearts have been healed by 10 visiting international teams.

While speaking during the Sri Sathya Sai Sanjeevani Children’s Hospital’s second anniversary, Hospital Director, Dr Krupali Tappoo says these families were given hope, faith, and have experienced joy and love.

Dr Krupali says this is the power of goodness, humanity, and this is what we can achieve when the core principles of our existence is based on a foundation of love.

She says the hospital has been privileged to host international surgical teams from the USA, National University Singapore, Sanjeevani Hospital India, Hearts 4 Kids Starship Hospital Auckland, Queensland Children’s Hospital Australia, and a team from Europe.

The Hospital Director says their reached a milestone when they operated on a 2 week old baby two weeks ago.

Prime Minister Sitiveni Rabuka who was the chief guest stated that in its first year the hospital has fulfilled its promise to become the hub of pediatric cardiac care for the Pacific region.

Rabuka says this ceremony honours the parents, children, who have received the gift of life via a lifesaving heart surgery from the Hospital.

Present at the celebrations were families who had been given the gift of life, Deputy Prime Minister Prof. Biman Prasad, foreign dignitaries and members of the business community.
