A 28-year-old man has been charged in connection with the death of his 25-year-old wife following an alleged domestic dispute on Monday in Lautoka.
It is alleged that the man assaulted his wife during an argument at their home in Waiyavi.
He later informed a relative that the woman was lying motionless inside their room.
Police say a post-mortem examination confirmed that the woman died as a result of injuries sustained from the alleged assault.
The man has been charged with one count of murder.
He will appear in the Lautoka Magistrates Court today.
