A massive fire at a Goa nightclub in India killed 25 people, with police saying the blaze spread quickly because the club was built with wooden structures and furniture.
According to India Today, police have arrested four people in relation to the incident an arrest warrants have been issued against owners Saurabh Luthra and Gaurav Luthra, who are believed to be absconding.
They say officials confirmed there was no blast, and the fire intensified due to the highly flammable interiors and the club having only two exit gates, trapping many inside.
Investigators say most victims died from suffocation in the underground kitchen area.
They say post-mortems for 17 victims are done, and six bodies have been handed over to families.
Authorities say officials who approved the club’s licence and permissions will be suspended and investigated for possible safety violations.
