230 women artisans from Tailevu, Rewa, Naitasiri, Suva, Nasinu, Lami, Serua, Namosi, and Beqa are displaying their crafts at the Central Division Women’s Expo, currently underway at the Suva Civic Centre.
Assistant Minister for Foreign Affairs, Lenora Qereqeretabua says the Expo plays a key role in advancing women’s economic empowerment by helping women grow their businesses and connect to wider markets.
She says the government is committed to supporting women through Divisional Expos, income-generating projects, and inclusive policies.

Qereqeretabua also announced that the Ministry of Women, Children and Social Protection is developing Fiji’s first National Women’s Economic Empowerment Action Plan, which will focus on women in work and business, financial inclusion, health and wellbeing, leadership, and inclusion.
She says that this plan is a bold step forward to ensure all women and girls in Fiji are part of a strong, inclusive, and resilient society.
The Central Division Women’s Expo concludes today.
