23 landowning units supported under iTaukei Resource Owners Support and Development Fund

23 landowning units across the nine provinces have been directly supported under the iTaukei Resource Owners Support and Development Fund.



Minister for iTaukei Affairs, Ifereimi Vasu highlighted in parliament that the distribution consists of Ba with 7 units, Naitasiri with 4 units, Nadroga/Navosa with 3 units, Macuata with 2 units, Ra and Tailevu with 2 units each, and Cakaudrove, Kadavu, and Rewa with 1 unit each.



Vasu says that in the 2025–2026 financial year, the government has allocated $3 million to this fund, where 20 existing projects and 40 new projects have been supported by Merchant Finance Pte Limited.



He says that five projects have been supported by the Fiji Development Bank.



The Minister adds 11 projects worth $291,000 have been approved by Merchant Finance Pte Limited, 8 projects worth $331,000 have been submitted to the Ministry of Finance, and the Tailevu Provincial Company has secured a $3 million facility through FDB with subsidised interest.
