23 drivers arrested for drunk driving over the weekend

23 drivers were arrested for drunk driving over the weekend, highlighting the impact of the Fiji Police Force’s traffic operations.
Acting Commissioner of Police, Aporosa Lutunauga stated this to fijivillage News, stressing they will continue to beef up these operations around the country.

Lutunauga says they are here to protect you, your family, and other road users that are innocent, that may be affected by your unreasonable decision.
Land Transport Authority Chief Executive Officer, Irimaia Rokosawa also highlighted that speeding and drink-driving continue to be the leading causes of road fatalities, with speeding alone accounting for about 40 percent of annual road deaths over the past five years.
