21st IIFA Awards scheduled for later this month postponed in wake of Covid-19 virus scare

The 21st IIFA Awards which was scheduled to be held later this month in Bhopal, the central Indian state of Madhya Pradesh has been postponed in wake of the Covid-19 virus scare in the country.

The new date has not yet been announced.

It has been decided to postpone the event after growing concerns were raised around the spread of Covid–19 virus and after consulting the Madhya Pradesh government.

39 cases of Covid-19 have been reported in India.

The outbreak of the virus has scared the entire country and people have been advised to take proper safety measures.

India’s Prime Minister, Narendra Modi recently cancelled the Holi milan event held every year and issued an advisory asking people to avoid public gatherings.

Schools have also been shut in Delhi till the 31st of this month.
