Twenty-one business owners now have the training and a grant of $5,000 each after participating in the first Business Startup Program.

They received certificates and grants at the Civic Centre last night.

The Tertiary Scholarships and Loans Service says the 6-month Business Startup Grant Scheme program is currently administered by the TSLS and the Fiji Commerce and Employers Federation.

They say this initiative is to help entrepreneurs develop essential business skills, reduce risks and prepare them for access to additional funding from donors and banks.

Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for MSMEs, Manoa Kamikamica congratulated the first group of graduates, recognized their resilience and the dawn of a new era of job creation driven by them.

Kamikamica adds the Ministry is proud to offer assistance of up to $30,000 to business owners between the ages of 18 and 40 who bring innovative and unique ideas.

He says the goal is to empower young entrepreneurs by helping them transform their visions into reality and enable them to make a meaningful impact in the nation.

He highlights the Ministry remains deeply committed to fostering innovation and supporting the next generation of entrepreneurs.
