National Federation Party Leader Professor Biman Prasad

National Federation Party Leader, Professor Biman Prasad says 2022 is going to be a defining year for Fiji as the people are provided the chance to once again make Fiji a land of hope to unlock the opportunities the nation is capable of taking.

In his New Year’s message, Prasad says many of us will be happy to leave 2021 behind which has been one of the worst years for our country.

He says the COVID-19 pandemic claimed hundreds of lives and for tens of thousands of others, life has been seriously disrupted.

Prasad says many could not even put food on the table for their families, small businesses carefully built up over the years were wrecked, students put their plans for further education on hold and children suffered while schools were closed.

However, Prasad says 2022 promises to be a better year as Fiji’s economy should begin recovering again and jobs and livelihoods are likely to come back.

He says 2022 is also a year to think of about country’s long-term future and they expect an election.

Prasad says the NFP will be ready and will announce their participation in a productive political partnership that is ready to lead.

The NFP Leader further says Fiji has a generation of voters who have never known anything other than the FijiFirst Party and the NFP is here offer the alternative – a government that listens to people, with leaders who are humble and respond to others’ needs.

He adds they will respect the political parties on the opposition side and will take into account their views as they will understand that they too represent their voters and have a right to be heard.
