2022 General Election campaign period starts on April 26th

Electoral Commission.

All registered political parties in Fiji can begin their election campaign for the 2022 General Election on the 26th of April and end it 48 hours before the date of the General Election, as announced by the President.

This has been confirmed by the Electoral Commission in accordance with Section 109A of the Electoral Act 2014, following their meeting today.

The Commission says the meeting took place this morning at the Fijian Elections Office headquarters in Toorak.

Commission Chairperson, Mukesh Nand and Commissioners Jawahar Lal, Kavita Raniga, Selina Lee Wah, Margot Jenkins, Simione Naiduki and Ateca Ledua were part of it.

The earliest date on which the Writ of Elections can be issued is the 26th of May.
