2018/2019 National Budget is bold, imaginative and comprehensive - PM

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama says that the 2018/2019 National Budget is bold, imaginative, comprehensive and sets us up for a wonderful year.

While opening of the 59th Annual Sanatan Convention at Samabula Primary School this morning, Bainimarama says that he is proud of what government has achieved in regards to education.

The Prime Minister acknowledged the great work the Sanatan community are doing to help build the nation especially in the fields of education and social welfare.

He also spoke on the convention’s theme for this year ‘Addressing Climate Change Through Moral Values’ saying that it is not often that we see the climate threat being cast as a moral challenge but, today it is.

He says that the budget is built on many of the programs his government has instituted over the years.

Meanwhile, government allocated more than $651M to address the climate threats.

Bainimarama also highlighted the industrial nations promise in Paris, to mobilise $100 billion a year in public and private finance climate vulnerable nations like Fiji by 2020.
