Quick response by officers in the Southern Division have led to the arrests of two men allegedly involved in separate robberies in Vatuwaqa and Raiwaqa.

Police say the first suspect was arrested after they were alerted to a robbery in Vatuwaqa where several men stole a safe and assorted electronic goods from a business in the Lalita Bhindi sub-division.

They say one suspect was arrested shortly after and taken into custody.

Police say in a separate incident, a woman walking along Gaji Road was allegedly robbed late Saturday night.

They say the victim chased the suspect and with the help of nearby officers, the suspect was apprehended and taken into custody at the Raiwaqa Police Station.

Investigations continue.
