A teenager and two men will appear in the Labasa Magistrates Court today after being charged with multiple counts of burglary and aggravated robbery.

The three stole items more than $31,000.

Police say they were involved in a number of house break-ins around Labasa from the 5th to 31st December 2024.

It is alleged that on 5th December, they broke into the house of a 43-year-old self-employed man of Bocalevu, Labasa, who was away in town with his family.

They stole items worth $1,104, which included 5kg yagona, mats and bags.

It is alleged that on the 6th December, they broke into the house of a 50-year-old farmer of Vuniqari, Tabia, Labasa, who was away with family to a wedding function.

They stole jewelries, clothes, mobile phones and perfumes worth $18,894.

Police say on the 13th December, they broke into a house of a 43-year-old self-employed woman of Bocalevu, Labasa, who was away with her family to a wedding function.

They stole items worth $3,217.

On the 20th December, they threatened a 60-year-old woman of Vunidova along with her 2-year-old granddaughter with a cane knife and took items worth $6,372. On the morning of 31st December, they broke into the house of a 54-year-old farmer of Bocalevu while the family were sleeping.

They stole $1,817 worth of items.
