Mother of four, Saghira Sardar who has made Fiji her home for the past 11 years could not hold her emotions as her 2-month-old daughter received the gift of life from Sai Sanjeevani Children's Heart Hospital.

Sardar says her 2 months-old daughter, Jaweria Saif was screened by the Sai Sanjeevani staff in Labasa and was then diagnosed with congenital heart disease.

She says it was difficult for the family to accept the fact and did not want to delay her surgery and came to Suva as soon as they received a call from the hospital.

She further says that her daughter has received a new life and they will always remain grateful for the support and assistance that the hospital and have provided them with.

Jeffery Pepesabatu who is from the Solomon Islands says his son Moses Peesabatu who is 4 years old was detected with heart disease when he was 2 months old.

Pepesabatu says it was tough for them to know about the disease and still unable to do anything as did not have enough funds for an overseas surgery trip.

He says beginning of the year a doctor from Solomon Islands arranged for Moses surgery at the hospital.

The 37-year-old says he cannot describe how he feels and acknowledged the hospital for their service.

Both children were operated on the 4th of July and discharged today.

The Sai Sanjeevani Children's Heart Hospital has also confirmed that a team of heart surgeons and specialists will be conducting surgeries in September.
