A total of 19,359 Year 8 students are registered to sit for the Fiji Year 8 Examination starting today till Thursday in 717 centres across the country.

Acting Minister for Education, Alitia Bainivalu says the exam preparation can be a combination of emotions, excitement and anticipation and is reminding students to have faith in what they have studied.

Bainivalu says students should remember that this examination is just a part of their educational journey.

Meanwhile, Fiji Teachers Union General Secretary, Muniappa Goundar has wished all the Year 8 students the very best on their external examination.

Goundar has urged all students to continue coming to school after their external examination. He adds concerns have been raised by teachers that a lot of absenteeism and discipline issues are seen when the external examination is over.
