19-year-old Anare Tabakaucoro from Nakalawaca Village in Tailevu says he could not believe that he had been selected to be part of the Skipper Select team.

The youngest player from the Tailevu Rugby Union has earned a spot in the Skipper Select side that will face the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua.

Tabakaucoro says there was strong competition for the position he plays, making his selection even more special.

The 19-year-old further says that being recognised for his performance is a major achievement, and he hopes to maintain the same discipline throughout his rugby career.

He also says that his ultimate goal is to represent Fiji and wear the jersey of the FIJI Water Flying Fijians.

For now, Tabakaucoro is part of the Army 7s team, where he continues training and maintaining his fitness before reporting to camp for preparations ahead of the competition.

The Skipper Select team will face the Fijian Drua on 6th February next year at Churchill Park in Lautoka.
