19 Fijian students given scholarships to study in China

The government of China has provided 19 scholarships to Fijian students to further their studies in China.

While speaking during the 2023 Chinese Government Scholarship Award Ceremony, Chinese Ambassador Zhou Jian says three students will be studying for a PhD, three are in the masters’ program, 13 are in the bachelor’s program and four are already studying in China.

Jian says China and Fiji have a good relationship in developing our country and also actively participate in international exchanges and cooperation on education.

He has reminded the students to be witnesses to China and China's development and also for them to thrive and achieve their dreams.

China will provide 2,500 scholarships until 2025 for people in the Pacific.

Students will be leaving our shores from next week.
