16 farmers of Bureseini Settlement, Seaqaqa lose their main source of income due to TC Yasa

About 16 farmers from Bureseini Settlement, Seaqaqa have lost their cash crops, livestock and their houses also suffered severe damages due to Tropical Cyclone Yasa.

Farmers in the area have sugarcane farms, plant cash crops and vegetables and had chickens, goats and sheep.

Mohammed Yusuf Ali says they are currently surviving on whatever food they have but they do not know what to do next as farming was their main source of income.

He says he and his family were stuck in the corner of their house when the roof of their house was blown away at around 7.30pm on Thursday due to the destructive winds.

Ali says this is the first time he experienced such a scary cyclone and they are really disheartened and devastated by the damages caused by it.
