Lifeline is fully funded and supported by TFL, Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation, Kontiki Finance and Digicel.

1543 is the new Lifeline Fiji Crisis short code number, and is available 24/7.

While launching the Lifeline Fiji Crisis Number, Speaker of Parliament, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau said Lifeline focuses primarily on suicide prevention and bereavement support.

He says lately Lifeline has responded to numerous calls and the organisation has assisted about a thousand Fijians.

Ratu Epeli says the nature of emotional sufferings are unique and it is hard to detect whether a person needs help.

He reminds the public to remember, there is only one life and calling 1543 can save a life.

Lifeline Fiji Board member, Helen Williamson says it is okay not to feel okay and 1543 is just a call away.

Williamson says Lifeline Fiji has so far responded to 10,000 calls.

Lifeline is fully funded and supported by TFL, Vodafone ATH Fiji Foundation, Kontiki Finance and Digicel.
