Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem

Supervisor of Elections Mohammed Saneem has revealed that the Fijian Elections Office will employ around 15,000 people during election day.

Speaking in a press conference today, Saneem says because there is an increase in the number of candidates for this year's national elections, they have requested parliament to consider amending the Electoral Act.

He says 650 will be the maximum number of people who can vote in one polling station.

Saneem says they will send 13 books to every polling station that has the maximum number of voters, but the task will be challenging for them as some areas do not have a proper road.

The Supervisor has also called on Members of Parliament, if they do not understand the complications of carrying the weight of all items that are needed for the election to the people, he is happy to place it on their parliament table for them to lift for 10-days and give them their feedback.
