About 15 men and three women will be taking the stage this evening to showcase their chiseled abs and toned bodies during the Suva Classics Bodybuilding and Fitness Transformation Competition.

Fiji Bodybuilding and Fitness Federation President, Ilaitia Tuinamoala they are trying to revive the sport as it has not been functional for a while.

Tuinamoala says if given the right training and support, they can prepare their athletes for a bigger stage.

He says anyone can participate and is encouraging people to be part of the sport as it is not about bodybuilding only but fitness as well.

Fiji Bodybuilding Athletes rep, Elizabeth Maki is also encouraging everyone, especially women to join the sport.

Under 21 Man's participant, Bazsil Cleary says he aims to win the category and encourage more people to get into the sport.

The 18-year-old says he has been preparing for about 4 weeks for the competition.

He says he came third in the 2022 competition and has bulked up since.

Cleary says he has been challenged by the increasing price of food as he does not rely on protein supplements.

He says another challenge he has faced is the lack support for the sport.

The athlete adds people should ignore the bad things said about them and focus on themselves to stay healthy.
