15 local small business entrepreneurs, 60 percent of whom are women, graduated from the Fiji Enterprise Engine’s survive, revive and grow program.

They were part of the second cohort of graduating Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise entrepreneurs under the FEE business accelerator program and represent a diverse range of local businesses.

While officiating at the graduation ceremony Minister for Education Premila Kumar says MSMEs contribute approximately 18 percent to national Gross Domestic Product and account for 60 percent of employment.

Kumar adds that government will continue to support MSMEs in whatever way they can and work closely with the directors of the Fiji Commerce & Employers Federation and partners to nurture determined and vibrant entrepreneurs to develop their businesses.

Australia’s Deputy High Commissioner to Fiji, Paul Wilson, says the Australian Government was very pleased to support economic response and recovery initiatives like the Fiji Enterprise Engine.

The next 2022 Fiji Enterprise Engine’s intake will begin next month and MSME entrepreneurs are encouraged to register their interest.
