The youngest Fiji Kulas player, Adi Ulamila Reva, will be playing for more than just a win when she takes the field on Saturday in the OFC Women’s Nations Cup opener against the Solomon Islands.
While speaking to fijivillage Sports, 14-year-old Adi Ulamila says her father, late Filimoni Lagivala Nale played football and she is just following his footsteps.
She says she will be hoping to make him proud and win the match.
Adi Ulamila says she started playing football in school and then joined the national U15 and U16 teams.
Kulas coach Angeline Chua says Adi Ulamila is a very special player who they, including former technical director Timo Jankowski, spotted during the FIFA Football for School program at Varavu Muslim Primary School.
She says they transferred her to Xavier College, one of the best schools in the West where she is closer to where she can train and play football.
The Kulas take on Solomon Islands at 7pm Saturday at HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
