An average of 20 children die every year, while 14 precious souls have already lost their lives this year from cancer.

Habitat for Humanity Fiji Chairperson, Anabel Ali highlighted this during the launch of International Childhood Cancer Month organised by WOWS Kids Fiji today.

Ali says it is very alarming as they have recorded 19 new cases this year where the youngest patient is just 6 months old.

She says it is an occasion that holds immense significance for WOWS as they come together to pay tribute to the parents, guardians and healthcare professionals who play a vital role in the lives of children with cancer.

The global theme for this year is "Better Survival Is Achievable Through Their Hands” to recognise the impact they have in improving the survival rates of childhood cancer.
