130 women entrepreneurs are expected to benefit from the $41,000 grant provided by the US Embassy to run the Academy for Women Entrepreneurs.

The training will be facilitated by the Women Entrepreneurs Business Council and the Makoi Women’s Vocational Centre. This is the third year in a row for the partnership.

While speaking at the grant signing, the Chair of the Women Entrepreneurs Business Council Eseta Nadakuitavuki says women owned businesses are very resilient as they are able to diversify to survive.

Nadakuitavuki further says they are grateful for this partnership.

Makoi Women’s Vocational Training Centre Manager, Shazna Khan says they will be looking at providing training to around 70 women from Makoi.

Khan further says there is a lot of demand for this program.

The Acting Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy, Rebecca Owen says the grant will expand opportunities for local businesswomen to increase their skills and assist them on their journey to success.

The facilitators will incorporate DreamBuilder online training in their workshop.

DreamBuilder is a free online entrepreneurial training module that teaches women the skills and knowledge to start and grow their own business.
