1,062 people are currently staying in 75 evacuation centres around the country.

The National Disaster Management Office confirms that these people in evacuation centres have had their houses damaged or destroyed during Tropical Cyclone Harold and they have provided them with tents for immediate response.

The NDMO says 194 people are in 13 evacuation centres in the Central Division, while 868 people are in 62 evacuation centres in the Eastern Division which includes Kadavu which has 59 evacuation centres with 767 people. Lau has 3 evacuation centres with 101 people.

The MV Ohana has completed the ration distribution and detailed damage assessments in Ono-I-Lau Ogea and Fulaga and they are currently in Kabara island.

They say the MV Spirit of Love has completed its ration distribution on Moala and Matuku Island and is currently serving Totoya and Udu villages.

Meanwhile Minister for Infrastructure Jone Usamate says a total of 523 houses were destroyed while 1,528 houses were partially damaged due to Severe Tropical Cyclone Harold.

The NDMO confirms the detailed damage assessments is expected to be completed by the end of this week.
