The 100 bed Pacific Specialist Healthcare Hospital has officially been opened by Prime Minister, Sitiveni Rabuka in Legalega, Nadi that will provide services such as neurosurgery, urology, cardiology, general surgery, plastic surgery, nephrology and Pediatrics.

PSH Nadi is the largest private hospital in the South Pacific and has over 4,000 square metre floor space spread over 5 floors.

Rabuka says medical tourism is growing rapidly around the world where people look for the best facility and best qualified professionals.

Now they will have added to those to things that people look for a natural tourist destination with friendly people and is very close to the airport.

He says he is sure the PSH Nadi is going to be attractive.

Rabuka says the coalition government recognises the potential of a growing medical tourism market.

He says establishing this facility to address the niche market makes very good business sense.

While highlighting India’s commitment to make a super specialty hospital in Fiji, Rabuka says he is sure Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be very happy that Fiji is not sitting back idle with a handkerchief on the streets of the world begging for money.

He says we are also doing our own.

Hospital Director Doctor Parvish Kumar says they are planning their first organ transplant later this year and are also establishing an IVF and a radiation therapy advanced cancer treatment centre in Suva within 20 months.

He says they opened their first branch in Suva in 2016 and after realising that they will be able to open a larger hospital, started work on their Nadi facility.

Dr. Kumar says they are also establishing a branch in Labasa and site scouting will begin next week.

He says they intend to set up three divisional hospitals followed by 7 sub-divisional hospitals.

Dr. Kumar says they are also located in Nadi for the convenience of those travelling from overseas and tourists seeking specialised care.
