10 women from USP, FNU and UniFiji have compiled a book titled 'The Covid-19 Pandemic and Beyond' that highlights their sacrifices and experiences during the COVID pandemic.

In an interview with fijivillage News, University of the South Pacific Linguistics Lecturer, Doctor Candide Simard says it is a different experience writing a joint chapter with a Fijian woman and to share the elements that they both faced differently during pandemic.

Doctor Simard says it was challenging to try to put their thoughts and ideas together but in the end, they appreciate their effort in completing their chapter.

USP Senior Lecturer in Fijian Studies Doctor Apolonia Tamata co-authered the chapter with Dr. Simard.

The title of their chapter is, Finding sense in the midst of the pandemic: shared experiences.

FNU Acting Vice Chancellor, Professor Unaisi Nabobo-Baba says during COVID, all women who wrote a chapter for the book, wrote their experience of COVID.

She says they think it was necessary to pen down these memories because COVID had sent not just women but everybody home and no was allowed to leave.
