Since 2024, the iTaukei Land Trust Board (TLTB) has helped 10,025 iTaukei students through its Early Withdrawal Minors Education Assistance, which allows access to lease funds for immediate educational needs.

Minister for iTaukei Affairs and Chairman of the TLTB Board of Trustees, Ifereimi Vasu says this initiative was introduced after recognising the need to support children at the time they require assistance.

Vasu says its purpose is to ensure that part of the minors’ funds can be utilised for primary and secondary education, while the remaining balance continues to be invested until the child reaches the age of 18.

He says the Early Withdrawal of Minors School Assistance has proven to be useful to iTaukei students in support of government education programs in primary and secondary levels.

The Minister adds that it ensures that lease funds are used meaningfully to meet essential and immediate educational needs, helps prevent dropouts, and demonstrates the Board’s commitment to supporting the education of our children as absolutely vital to the socio-economic development of our country.
