A one-year-old boy has drowned in Navosai after his body was discovered floating at the Navosai creek yesterday afternoon.

Police say the child was allegedly playing with a cousin outside their Narere home when he disappeared and was later found in the creek.

They say the circumstances surrounding the unfortunate incident are under investigation.

They add this is the second incident involving a child this week, and investigators will be looking into the element of negligence.

Police are again calling on parents and guardians to please monitor and closely supervise the movement of children at all times as we head into a public holiday tomorrow and also as the school holiday continues, as accidents can occur at any given time.
