The Methodist Church of Fiji President, Reverend Dr Semisi Turagavou, has reminded Police Officers that they are called to serve the nation and the people of Fiji.

While delivering his sermon during the Fiji Police Force’s Thanksgiving Church Service marking the end of the festive season operational period and the Induction Service for the Force Chaplain, Assistant Superintendent of Police Reverend Joeli Mawi held at the Fiji Police Academy in Nasova, Rev Dr Turagavou says Police officers must serve this nation and they must have the right attitude to serve people.

While addressing the senior Command, the head of the Methodist Church says there were many interpretations of leadership, but the gist of which requires humility and leading by example.

Rev Dr Turagavou says they should humble themselves, and they will be rewarded.

He told them to ask what is necessary, relevant and appropriate.

He adds at times, people are hungry for power, vying for leadership and promotion to another level by hook or crook, but hard work will always be rewarded, and those who deserve the position will be given it.
