Energy Fiji Limited Board Chairman Rokoseru Nabalarua

Energy Fiji Limited Board Chairman Rokoseru Nabalarua says people taking offers overseas are now finding out that it is not cheap living in that particular country and are returning to Fiji and re-employed in the institution.

He says EFL is not immune from workers leaving the organisation as they have been losing their technical people over the years.

Nabalarua says it seems that they are training their people for the New Zealand and Australian market, but that is not an excuse for them.

He says more efforts should be made to retain our skilled people.

EFL Chief Executive Officer Fatiaki Gibson says they are looking at the culture within the organisation and making it an employer of choice.

He says making EFL an employer of choice is another retention strategy apart from whatever workers are taking home as their pay.

Gibson says this strategy helps people to decide to stay in Fiji and help the economy grow.
