Suva Grammar School has caused a major upset this afternoon after edging tournament favourites, Marist Brothers High School 15-13 in the Southern Zone Vodafone Super Deans final.
Under cool conditions at the ground, the Grammar Lions used their powerful forward pack to full effect, playing smart, controlled rugby to score crucial tries that ultimately secured the win.
Marist had previously beaten Grammar in the pool stages, but were unable to repeat the same in the final.
Both teams will now shift their focus to the National Vodafone Super Deans Championship.
Suva Grammar advances as the top team from the Southern Zone, with Marist finishing in second place.
