Super Rugby: Chiefs embrace shot at re-writing history

The Chiefs are embracing the underdog tag and a nothing-to-lose attitude as they look to re-write the history books in tonight’s Super Rugby Aotearoa final in Christchurch. Standing in their way is the Crusaders who have an astonishing 24-0 record in a home playoff match.

Chiefs coach Clayton McMillan says it is a formidable record but it wasn’t too long ago people were talking about their losing streak.

He says their job now is to try and create their own history as they have already exceeded a lot of people’s expectations.

McMillan adds the only thing that will let them down is if they do not give their best and go back to their shells.

He says they are going to come out fizzing tonight and they will turn up as brawlers.

The Chiefs will take on the Crusaders in the Super Rugby Aotearoa final at 7.05 tonight.
