The Fiji Airways National Men’s team had a poor start in the HSBC Singapore 7s after losing to the USA 33-14.

The Fijian side scored a try in the first minute of the match through Pilipo Bukayaro, however, the Americans responded just a minute later through Lucas Lacamp.

Joji Nasova gave the Fijian side some hope as he scored another try to give Fiji a 14-7 lead.

The USA side then rallied back and scored two tries through Kevon Williams and speedster Perry Baker to give the Americans a 21-14 lead at half time.

Fiji committed a lot of mistakes in the second half, where the USA capitalized and managed to score two tries from Aaron Cummings and Malacchi Esdale.

Fiji will now face Great Britain at 10.30 tonight before playing Ireland at 5.37pm tomorrow in their final pool match. The Cup quarter-finals will start at 11 tomorrow night, the semi-finals will start at 5.48pm Sunday and the final will kick off at 10.21pm Sunday.
