Rugby legend Waisale Serevi

With growing concerns over the rise in drug use and illegal activities Amongst youths, rugby legend Waisale Serevi says he is committed to helping shape the future of Fiji’s children through sport.

In an interview with fijivillage News, Serevi says after travelling the world, he thought to establish his rugby academy for children in Fiji to help keep them away from drugs.

He says this will provide a pathway for them to get scholarships overseas and play rugby, and support their families at home.

Serevi says out of sight is out of mind, and kids need to be strong and say no to drugs.

He also highlighted that at the end of last year, he reflected on his journey travelling to more than 80 countries around the world, and he discussed with his wife establishing a rugby academy here to help provide a pathway for kids in Fiji.

He adds the academy is a three to four-year program and also wishes to reach out to children in the rural areas and maritime areas.

Serevi also acknowledged Aqua Pacific for helping him establish the academy.
