Rugby fans can expect more flair from Swire Shipping Fijian Drua utility back Tuidraki Samusamuvodre after he signed on for two more seasons with the Drua.

Samusamuvodre has also been included in the Fiji Water Flying Fijians squad for the Pacific Nations Cup.

The Drua Club says the Namotomoto, Nadi man is a versatile midfielder and has been with the Drua since its inception in 2022.

He has made 20 appearances for the club to date.

The Drua says the 27-year-old’s dedication on and off the field earned him the Drua Community Champion of the Year award this year, recognising his efforts to grow grassroots rugby and foster community engagement.

Samusamuvodre says he thanked the Lord Almighty for his blessings and is grateful to the coaches for giving him another opportunity to keep fighting for the team he loves.

He adds that there are exciting times ahead.

Samusamuvodre made a strong impact this season, featuring in 10 matches for the Drua.

Fijian Drua General Manager of Rugby, Baden Stephenson, says that anyone who saw Tuidraki play and behave with the Drua in 2025 will not be surprised to see his contract extended for a further two years.

Stephenson says he is a mature and quality rugby player and man.

He adds that Samusamuvodre plays above his weight, puts his body on the line, and is a terrific ambassador of the Drua values and everyone he represents.

Samusamuvodre is one of the 24 Fijian Drua players selected for the Flying Fijians squad that will compete in the upcoming Pacific Nations Cup.

Fiji's first match is against Tonga on the 30th of this month at 3pm at the HFC Bank Stadium in Suva.
