Roko Tui Bau Ratu Timoci Taniela, Graham Eden, Laisa Vulakoro & Konai Helu Thaman among 33 commemorative medal recipients today

Vude Queen Laisa Vulakoro, Poet and Academic Professor Konai Helu Thaman and rugby commentator Graham Eden.

Thirty three people who have contributed to Fiji’s development and progress in the past 50 years were today awarded with commemorative medals for Fiji’s 50th anniversary of independence by President Jioji Konrote.

They include Bau chief, Turaga Na Roko Tui Bau Ratu Timoci Taniela who is also the former Fiji Rugby Union CEO, former rugby commentator Graham Eden, former Acting Commissioner of Police Ravi Narayan, Vude Queen Laisa Vulakoro, local music icons Seru Serevi and Saimone Vuatalevu, highly respected poet and Academic Professor Konai Helu Thaman, former National Adviser for Non-Communicable Diseases Doctor Isimeli Tukana, Chief Magistrate Usaia Ratuvili, TISI Sangam President Sadasiwan Naicker, former hotelier Radike Qereqeretabua, former broadcaster Edward Keith Broadbridge, Resident Magistrate Chaitanyna Lakshman, Lawyer Vijay Maharaj and Manoa Rasigatale.

Lagisoa Delana, Anthony Bruce Whitton, Akhilesh Niranjan Prasad, Christopher Karia, Pyara Singh, Lyndell Fisher, Sainimere Rauqeuqe, Patrick Wong, Adi Seru Seniloli, Fesaitu Misau, Shaenaz Voss, Shobhana Chanel, Severo Koroduadua, Vasundra Ram, Warrant Officer Class 1 Aisake Pene Finiasi, Warrant Officer Class 1 Alexander Masima and Warrant Officer Class 2 Suliano Koro also received medals today.
