Minister for Environment, Doctor Mahendra Reddy says once again, NFP MP, Lenora Qereqeretabua has jumped the gun and demonstrated her lack of knowledge about environmental matters while Qereqeretabua has questioned the Minister if an Environmental Impact Assessment has been carried out for the proposed naval base in Lami.

Reddy says when someone sits down, has the talanoa and says they want to construct a hotel on Denarau, that does not immediately mean an Environmental Impact Assessment needs to be conducted.

He says in this case, they have not even acquired the land.

Qereqeretabua says she has asked the question because the artists impression of the building is already out.
