Fiji Water Flying Fijians coach Simon Raiwalui has come out in support of French referee Mathieu Raynal for his officiating of the Flying Fijians and England Rugby World Cup quarter final match.

Raiwalui says there’s obviously decisions that go 50/50 in terms of where the tackle went but the referees do a brilliant job.

Raiwalui says they are huge supporters of every facet of the game that includes refereeing and they do a wonderful job.

He says sometimes there’s mistakes or the rub of the green doesn’t go their way but it is important that we support the referees and not isolate them which tends to happen.

He says they had opportunities to score, and opportunities to win.

Flying Fijians skipper Waisea Nayacalevu is asking if fair decisions can be made on every team that plays so they can play rugby and enjoy the game.

Nayacalevu says he was frustrated with some of the calls that Raynal made.

Argentina will face New Zealand in the first Rugby World Cup semi final at 7am Saturday while England will play South Africa at 7am Sunday.
