Over $32,000 was collected during the Bau Project Development Fundraising that was held on Bau Island.
According to Tunitoga, Jack Aisea Komaitai, their target was to raise $27,000, but they are thankful for other members of the island who turned up with their donations, and also their families from overseas.
He says this fundraising will go towards their church donation for missionary work, their district donation, and also the development projects on the island.
Komaitai says village living nowadays is getting expensive as they are the ones doing the work in the village, such as village clean-up.
He urges villages not to wait for the government to come and start development in their villages.
He also highlighted that through togetherness, anything can be achieved.
